Dr John Isaac

Dr John Isaac graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1976. He began his career in the Department of Agriculture in 1977 before coming to Ferntree Gully Veterinary Hospital in 1987.

He has previously had a special interest in orthopaedic surgery and dentistry. He has completed post graduate courses in surgery and internal medicine. Currently his interests are in preventive medicine and soft tissue surgery.

He and his wife Cathy have 3 sons, a dog named Georgia and Rex the cat. In his spare time he enjoys cycling, tennis, going to Church, spending time with the family and following St Kilda in the footy.



Dr Mark Boyhan

Dr Mark Boyhan graduated from the University of QLD in 1992. He began his career at Lort Smith Animal Hospital and the RSPCA before coming to Ferntree Gully Veterinary Hospital in 1999.

Mark has completed further studies in feline medicine and has a keen interest in anaesthetics and pain management. Mark and his wife Melinda have 4 children, 2 dogs and 1 cat. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, swimming, watching Rugby, listening to ACDC and following Collingwood.



Dr Ellen Dovey

Dr Ellen Dovey graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 2006. After practicing in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Ellen joined the Ferntree Gully Veterinary Hospital Team in March 2008.

Ellen has current certification as a PennHIP veterinarian and Hill's Nutritional Advisor and enjoys all areas of veterinary surgery and medicine. At home, Ellen chases after her cheeky pets including a scruffy terrier, a tiny cat, and a charming Great Dane.

Ellen and her husband Shiloh use their spare time to learn guitar, see live music, and keep in touch with family and friends.



Dr Amy Henderson

Amy graduated from the University of Melbourne with first class honours in 2008, and commenced work at the Ferntree Gully Veterinary Hospital soon after. Amy grew up in Warburton in the Yarra Valley and always wanted to become a Vet from a very young age.

Since joining the team at Ferntree Gully Vets, Amy has enjoyed expanding her knowledge and skills in all aspects of small animal practice. In their spare time, Amy and her husband Kurt enjoy keeping fit, renovating their home and catching up with family and friends.



Dr Ying Zheng

Dr Ying Zheng graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009. Born to cat obsessed parents, her love for animals has inspired her to complete a double major in Zoology and Marine biology with honours, prior to embarking on her Veterinary studies.

Since joining the Ferntree Gully Veterinary Hospital in March 2010, Ying has embraced the opportunity to further advance her knowledge in Veterinary medicine and develop her surgical skills. She has strong interests in small animal medicine, especially in feline medicine.
 
Ying lives with her husband Wei and their four furry kids; Pooh Pooh, Pong Pong, Bess Bess (the cats) and Jessie (the dog). When not at work, you may find Ying freelancing as a photographer, teeing off on the golf course, or waltzing around a ballroom.
